Blog Introduction: Hall of Mirrors: Anne Zahalka Portraits 1987-2007

The Kodak Education Program forms part of the Hall of Mirrors: Anne Zahalka Portraits 1987-2007 touring exhibition and is targeted at a younger audience.

This special program has been developed to encourage an interactive gallery visit by school groups where students will be able to engage with the exhibition and then consider their own identity through photography and portraiture. Kodak has kindly donated a number of digital cameras to assist this program.

Anne Zahalka has designed a vinyl backdrop of a generic beach scene for this special education program. School groups will be able to re-stage one of Anne Zahalka's works, referencing the poses and/or arrangement of figures, symbolism and/or themes of the work. School groups should be encouraged to bring along costumes and props for self-expression and analysis to explore identity and the multitude of themes in the work, including professions, collectors and favourite objects, and immigration to name just a few.

A selection of images created by school groups will be selected by NETS Victoria and regularly uploaded to this site.
